In 2011, the business consultant, conductor and pianist Victor Emanuel von Monteton opened a new Swiss concert series in favor of non-profit organizations with the Charity Concert "Swiss Charity Concert". Every year, together with violinist Koh Gabriel Kameda from Japan and the chamber orchestra Praga Camerata from the Czech Republic, Monteton develops a musically challenging program with selected masterpieces from Mozart to Vivaldi and Beethoven to Mendelssohn Bartholdy. The "Swiss Charity Concert" supports educational programs for children in crisis and conflict areas worldwide, and thus Save the Children, the largest independent child relief organization in the world.
The Swiss Charity Concert supports the child rights organization Save the Children and this year focuses on child-friendly spaces Children need urgent protection during wars, after natural disasters or in other crisis situations. That is why Save the Children builds child-friendly rooms in refugee camps and temporary shelters worldwide. Here children find a safe haven and are protected from child trafficking, child labor and other dangers. They are mentally cared for, receive an informal education and can recover from their traumatic experiences playing, painting and crafting.
